THE PAPER
INTRODUCTION: Take your early piece of writing and translate it into an introduction. Begin with a lead that captivates the reader—a photographer’s focus on a frantic family as a firefighter enters their burning house, a child’s ambulance ride to the hospital with a crushed leg…you get the picture. This should be short and inviting and lead into your topic choice.
STORY OF THE SEARCH: This is the main body of your paper. This should be about the process of gathering information as well as the information itself. This section should include the following:
- Background information written up in essay form (2-5 pages)
- successes and frustrations in lining up interviews
- Interviews in narrative form
