I. Overview

We have spent the last few months reading books that express an opinion on the relationship between technology and community. We've discussed these issues in class and you've taken part in an individual tech-free challenge and blogged about it. Now it's time to articulate your own opinion on this essential question of our course:

• What, in your opinion, is the ideal relationship between technology and community?

You will answer this essential question in two ways:

• An essay that directly answers the question, using evidence from the course texts and your own experience. This is 75% of your product grade.
• A creative piece of your choosing that represents either your vision of this ideal relationship OR its opposite (dystopia). This may be a short story, poem, song or artistic piece and will count for 25% of your product grade.
