Students study 2 and 3 dimensional design, composition, methods and materials in drawing, painting, and sculpture, as well as art history and criticism.

    These paper mache masks, made in Division I Art classes, were inspired by the Puerto Rican tradition of the Vejigante mask making that students studied in 8th Spanish with Senor McDonnell.

Technology classes are used to enrich and expand learning throughout the school, especially with various tools for communication.

    DIV II COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY
    Take apart and rebuild

    Split into 4 main sections, the course covered how computers work, how to dismantle, how to rebuild, then finally how to build a new computer. The desktops that the students built are currently are in high demand in the schools library.

    Business Cards

    This project gave students an opportunity to explore the freedoms and contraints encountered when designing professional looking business cards using Adobe InDesign. The students used Adobe Photoshops drawing tools to create a logo that was designed and imported for their business card

 

NATURE
This class heightens students' abilities to observe, understand and be at home in their natural surroundings, and strengthens their attention in other settings.

    Tracking

    This course is an introduction into animal tracking. Students learn how to identify clear tracks and how to interpret signs and movement patterns of local wildlife. Through journaling we learn about one particular species in depth.

MUSIC
Students' study of music includes basic elements of composition through rhythm and voice, as well as appreciation of a wide range of music.

    DIV II MUSIC
    Musical Futures

    Students form small groups and will use specific resources (videos, sheet music, chord charts, etc) to learn a song of their
    choosing. Students are incouraged to work with a musical instrument that is new to them. After some basic training, rehearsals and class performances, students will apply peer feedback to improve aspects of their performance.
