Every student who wants to participate in after school sports gets to play, and teams are established to allow active participation of everyone. While Four Rivers has had some talented varsity teams, our emphasis is on developing skills, the love of the game, and true team spirit and sportsmanship.

Four Rivers has two very popular competitive sports programs: a soccer program every fall and an Ultimate Frisbee program in the spring. In the winter, there is an indoor intramural sports program which takes place at Indoor Action Sports’ heated dome and sometimes its gymnasium as well. The winter program is largely devoted to Ultimate Frisbee but if there is enough student interest, the school has organized intramural basketball, too, and on occasion has run it as a competitive program.

Four Rivers belongs to a competitive league made up of similar sized schools in the upper Pioneer Valley. Depending on the number of students participating and their skill levels, we may have varsity, junior varsity, middle school and/or coed teams in both sports. We have a regulation soccer field immediately behind our high school and a practice field in the front corner of our property. We are adjacent to Greenfield Community College and have leased the use of their playing fields for both fall and spring use every year. We also have a large unheated “Blue Barn” that has open space and high intensity lighting which is used for basketball and many physical education activities. Finally, we own two 14 passenger activity buses for transporting teams and rent other buses to get where we need to go.
