Scientists looked at the brain itself to learn about it.

Scientists looked through a microscope.

Scientists wanted to know what made Einstein genius.

The prefrontal cortex matures last.

The cells related to what you do are strengthened and what you don’t use is eliminated.

Your brain is made of neutrons.

The limbic system controls your emotions.

The brain is so active; it uses almost a quarter of the body’s oxygen.

Neutrons carry signals which allow you to move and hear.

The right part of your brain controls the left side of the body while the left side controls the right side of your body.

Your brain is operated into two parts.

The left side of your brain is the creative side while the right side of your brain is the work side.

The brain essentially is an electrical system. Its neutrons are especially suited to conduct electrical signals. All neutrons share a common structure.

Cortex- is not fully developed until your about 25-

Activity- some parts have low activity and others have high activity

Neurons- like a tiny octopus with thousands of legs- for every one neuron there are 10 glial cells- makes up your neuron system- a baby has 100 billion neurons when born-

Shape- has veins in it- roundish

Memory- long term is for a long time, no limits, you can store sounds and smells- short term, only a few minutes, can’t hold more then a few things-

Genes- controls how your body works- nobody has the same genes except identical twins- carry instructions-

The limbic system controls your emotions

The pons or pans monitors the information sent to your brain and decides where or if it should be processed.

Born with basic intelligence, between the years of 2 and 5 a child learns 10 words a day, when a baby is born only 17% of neurons are linked, you probably learn more in the first 5 years of your life then you learn in the rest of it,

Eliminating brain cells can strengthen other ones
